- Editorial Office Assessment:
- The journal conducts an initial assessment of the paper’s structure and adherence to Author Guidelines. Simultaneously, a plagiarism check using tools like Grammarly is performed. If the paper passes this stage, it proceeds to the next step.
- Invitation to Reviewers:
- The handling editor invites individuals deemed relevant in the specific field to review the paper. Additional invitations are issued until the required number of acceptances (usually 2) is obtained.
- Response to Invitations:
- Potential reviewers evaluate the invitation based on their expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They either accept or decline, with the option to suggest alternative reviewers when declining.
- Review is Conducted:
- Reviewers dedicate time to multiple readings of the paper. The initial impression is formed during the first read, and if major issues are identified, the reviewer may recommend rejection. Otherwise, a detailed point-by-point review is constructed through subsequent readings.
- Journal Evaluates the Reviews:
- The handling editor considers all returned reviews to make an overall decision. If reviews vary significantly, an additional reviewer may be invited for an extra opinion before reaching a decision.
- Review Report Communicated:
- The handling editor communicates the decision and review report to the author through an online system or, in rare cases, via email. The author is informed of the time period given to submit a revised manuscript based on the comments.
- Review (if needed):
- After the first blind peer review, if necessary, the article undergoes a second expert peer review.
- Editing of Manuscript:
- The revised manuscript is sent to the editing team. If accepted, the editing process begins, and the author is notified. Any compliance issues during this stage are referred to the Research and Development team for final approval.
- Final Process:
- After receiving final comments, the author receives an acceptance letter and the Galley proof. Upon publication, the author obtains the PDF of the paper, which includes the DOI and page number.
